How to Find the Best Halloween Costumes on the Web

Costumes tell a Daneila Bright  and create a character, whether you’re channeling the supernatural or simply dressing as your favorite TV show or movie character. But with so many options to choose from, it can be overwhelming.

But a little bit of research can help you decide what’s in store this Halloween. This year, Google Trends reports that the most searched costumes include creatures of the past (vampires, werewolves, zombies), champions of the present (the cast of Stranger Things) and ethereal beings like fairies.

You can even get in on the fun by embracing your inner emoji. Using items you already have in your closet, such as overalls and a plaid shirt, you can transform into Jupe the rodeo-ready cyborg or Emerald the coyote. Or, for a more feminine look, dress up as Daenerys from Game of Thrones by re-creating her season 1 outfit with a gray chiffon dress and long blonde wig.

If you’re going for a more traditional costume, turn to your favorite sitcom for inspiration. Jerry’s classic uniform of a white button-down and blue jeans, Elaine’s back-combed hair and saddle shoes, or Kramer’s brown jacket and sweater all work well. And if you’re not a fan of being scared, you can still enjoy the holiday by dressing up as one of the characters from Hocus Pocus. Winona Ryder’s goth Lydia Deetz and Binx are easy to recreate with a black robe, a witch hat and some cat ears.
